Tours & Reservations
Students of every age can benefit from a single visit to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum since we offer programs for every grade level. To maximize these educational opportunities, we suggest that students visit our facility three times during their school career: once during their elementary years (K-4th), once during the middle school years (5th-8th), and again in high school (9th-12th).
The Museum offers interactive, guided tours for students of all ages. Our tour has been specifically designed to complement the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). For this reason, tour content and themes vary by grade level. For example, 4th grade tours will include a discussion of George Bush’s career as an oil man, while 11th grade tours will include an in-depth discussion of the Berlin Wall.
Tours are one hour in length.
All guided tours, self-guided tours, interactive learning programs, and the Exploring History summer programs are available by reservation only. We book all of our tours and programs in advance. Therefore, we recommend you call for reservations at least two months prior to the desired date of your visit.
Dates and times for student and Interactive Learning programs vary depending on availability of tour guides and current reservations. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Please keep in mind that Spring (March, April, May) is usually the busiest time of the year for student field trips. For this reason, we suggest that groups wishing to come in the spring make their reservations by January.
Students and anyone employed by the school are admitted free. Parent chaperones are free with a 1:10 ratio of adults to students.
We require at least one adult for every ten students.
Please note: An inquiry into date availability does NOT constitute a reservation.
